On October 12, the UN General Assembly supported the resolution on non-recognition of pseudo -referendums in the territories of Ukraine occupied by Russia. The resolution is entitled "Territorial integrity of Ukraine. Protection of the principles of the UN Charter."
The resolution was considered at the 11th extraordinary special session of the UN General Assembly from October 10. 143 out of 193 member countries voted for the resolution, 35 abstained, and 5 voted against.

Against: Russia, Belarus, Syria, Nicaragua, North Korea. In particular, Algeria, Armenia, Bolivia, Burundi, CAR, China, Congo, Cuba, Eritrea, Tajikistan, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Thailand abstained.
The resolution rejects any changes in the status of Ukrainian regions, calls on the state, international organizations and specialized UN agencies not to recognize any changes in the status of Ukrainian regions, and demands that the Russian Federation immediately and unconditionally cancel its decisions regarding the status of Ukrainian regions and immediately, completely and unconditionally withdraw all its troops from the territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
China’s representative at the UN, Geng Shuang , again called for “dialogue”:
"We must adhere to dialogue and engage in a political solution to the crisis in Ukraine. China is deeply concerned about the recent intensification of the conflict and condemns the victims among the residents. It is urgent that the parties refrain and avoid the escalation of the conflict in order to prevent confrontation from spiraling out of control... The crisis in Ukraine must be resolved peacefully and we must secure a diplomatic solution. "
Support for the new UN resolution on the non-recognition of pseudo-referendums in the territories of Ukraine occupied by Russia is an opportunity for every state to be on the “right side of history and contribute to the victory over Russia” . First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Emine Japarova said this earlier .
"This resolution is not only about supporting the territorial integrity of our state, but also about the ability of the international community to defend the fundamental principles of the UN Charter... Supporting the new resolution is about being on the right side of history and the opportunity for every state to contribute to victory."
