The first ship with Ukrainian corn left the port of Odessa. On August 1, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov announced this on Facebook. 26,000 tons of Ukrainian corn are on board the dry cargo ship RAZONI, which is sailing under the Sierra Leone flag in the direction of Tripoli in Lebanon. The safety of the ship is guaranteed by our partners – the UN and Turkey.
“Ukraine is the fourth largest exporter of corn in the world, so the possibility of exporting it through ports is a colossal success for ensuring global food security,” the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure emphasized.
Our country, together with its partners, took an extremely important step to prevent the global food crisis and save hundreds of millions of people on the planet from hunger.
The start of grain exports is a powerful step towards the recovery of the Ukrainian economy. which will give at least 1 billion dollars of foreign currency revenue every month.
A difficult path lasting 3 months, which united the efforts of the President of Ukraine, the President’s office, the government, the GUR of the MoU, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and our Turkish, American, European partners and the UN, this difficult path led us to victory in the crucial economic battle.
16 more ships are already waiting for loading and shipping and new applications are coming in.
In the coming weeks, with the support of partners, it is planned to reach the full capacity of transshipment of agricultural products.
