The Italian authorities have seized eleven villas, the actual owner of which is billionaire Vyacheslav Kantor, reports the Italian publication L’Unione Sarda . In the publications, Kantor was called a businessman close to the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.
This is, in particular, real estate on the island of Sardinia, bought by a Russian from the family of the former head of the Italian cabinet, now a member of the European Parliament, Silvio Berlusconi, and one of the villas belonging to Cantor borders Berlusconi’s summer residence.
It is noted that the European Council ordered the seizure of Cantor’s assets back in April after the introduction of personal sanctions against him. They were introduced in connection with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The delay in the implementation of the decision was related to the difficulties of identifying the companies that formally owned the billionaire’s real estate.
